first month in AK!

I'm going to keep my monthly posts simple...just a "pinch of salt"zgaber:)  I can't think of anything catchier right now ... but going to start with: something cool, something new, something favorite, and something true.  Here's to our first month in Alaska!

February.  what.a.month.  moving is hard work!  I feel like we've moved to a new country, even though Ryan keeps insisting this is still America lol:)  It's still hard to believe the mountains and trees aren't a scene from a picture, but real and right in front of us.  This place is beautiful.  I'm especially looking forward to all the white turning to green this summer, we hear amazing things about Alaska summers! 

something cool about this month - it's actually not just cool here, but FREEZING;)  these 2 moose right outside our window were pretty cool!

something new - well, everything.  but I think we're most excited about our new house and meeting new friends and getting plugged in soon to a new church.

something favorite -  the fur rondy festival and watching the dog sled races

already here ...

Why is it that the time we want to go slow, goes fast and the time we want to go fast, goes slow?  The crazy thing is ... either way we've got 24hours in a day.  We've especially been soaking up those hours and moments; saying "see you later" to friends and enjoying lots of time with family...  I remember several months ago, Ryan ever so carefully shared he got orders and we'd be moving to ... ALASKA!  It's hard to believe the time is already here.  We know the best place to be, is where God has us.  Even in the unknown and hard, we know God's umbrella of protection covers our family.  Pray for us as we start this new journey!  The snow, mountains, moose ... more snow :)  I'll be blogging more, I promise!  My goal is to blog monthly updates, be on the lookout. xoxoxo

growing too fast!

My updates are too far in between, I know and I'm sorry!:/  But just like my title, time really does go just too fast! 

I think one of the sweetest updates lately was celebrating Gracen girls birthday, September 29th.  The Lord's goodness and promises were wrapping us up, as our arms were wrapping up Gracen's little sister... our precious, joyful, adorable Rylee Hope.  Bringing her to Gracen's spot is so sweet to us.  Her sister is very much a part of her life and I look forward to God using Gracen's testimony to grow Rylee's.  Oh how our hearts ache not having Gracen running around and doing big sister stuff, I often image it...  

What a blessing children are, the Lord works through babies to seriously bless!  we.are.so.so.thankful.  Our hearts as parents are truly thankful!  Daily we need the Lord, because man it's hard work... but a job we treasure and rejoice in. 

Our family is looking forward to a journey the Lord is giving us ... our next duty station ... in ... ALASKA!  It will be an adventure that's for sure:)
